DAY 24 - BEWARE SATAN THE POLITE

Pope Francis emphasized the need for discernment, noting that the devil may destroy directly or "politely, very diplomatically". Augustine's "spiritual lukewarmness” made it so he did not notice demons trying to find their way into him. Examples of the "politeness of Satan" include seemingly harmless movies, TV shows, games, horoscopes, Ouija boards, and Tarot cards. We can learn from Augustine’s nine years with the Manicheans, who used "polished and polite ways" that he fell prey to, and as Fr Max points out, so may we!
