DAY 35 - PRAISE BE TO THE MASTER

While Augustine had come to understand Christ intellectually, he experienced significant anxiety and turmoil because he could not yet make the leap to accepting Jesus. Augustine describes a conflict between his "old will" of the body (Day 34) and a "new will" of the spirit, stating that their combat devastated his soul. He famously pleaded with God for "chastity and self-restraint, but just don't do it just yet," fearing that God would cure his vices before he was ready to give them up.

What vices do we have that we aren't ready to give up? Give them up to God.
